The Montreal Psychedelic Society invites you to this short and sweet conference to celebrate the annual psychedelic mushroom day!

Hosted by actors of the Montreal psychedelic scene, this event will talk about the challenges, history, impact and research of the psychedelic world.

***Participants’ bios***

Roxanne Hallal · Involved in the Quebec psychedelic world for a few years now, Roxanne is particularly interested in harm reduction, micro-dosing and trip-sitting. Translator in this community and with a sexology degree in hand, she likes to keep herself up to date with the most recent scientific news in psychedelic sciences, particularly what has to do with mental health. She’s also very interested in sub-cultures and countercultures, which brought her to create sanctuaries in festive events held in Quebec.

Carrie Katz · Carrie is a graduate of The Center for Optimal Living’s Integrated Harm Reduction Psychotherapy Certificate Program, is a certified Transformational Recovery Coach and Psychedelic Integration Coach (Senior Coach at BTTY) and a graduate of Concordia University's Professional and Personal Coaching Program (PPCC). She works with individuals and offers workshops on Coaching Creativity and Recovery.

Her focus is on transformational recovery, facilitation and integration of psychedelic experiences with an integrative harm reduction therapeutic approach.

Steve Beukema · to come

Etienne Billard · Treasurer and member of the executive team of the Montreal Psychedelic Society since 2017, Etienne is a post-doctoral researcher at McGill University in Montreal. Specialized in molecular pharmacology and therapeutic chemistry, he studies he studies the mechanisms of action of LSD. He will introduce us to some psychedelic pharmacology knowledge, and will present the evolution of his current research concerning the characterization of the potential interaction between 5-HT2A receptors (main responsible of psychedelic effects) and AMPA (synaptic transmission, neuroplasticity), and the study of the impact that this complex could play in the therapeutic effect of LSD.
